The Help Show is a podcast dedicated to connecting individuals to mental health community resources. The podcast was started by Dallas, Texas native NiEtta Reynolds following a tragedy in - the death of a dear friend. From this life-changing event, The Help Show was born. Her friend's suicide came as a shock to NiEtta.

She failed to see the warning signs of her friend's severe depression. Afterwards, NiEtta devoted enormous amounts of time to researching mental health and wellness. This research sparked her passion for spreading mental health awareness and the epiphany that others in Dallas as well as worldwide struggle with the challenges of depression.

The Help Show is not only a podcast, but it is also a movement that is focused on changing: The perception and visible stigma associated with mental health issues; The barriers to accessing mental health resources; The underserved and the disparities they face when attempting to access mental health resources; The lack of awareness on how to access mental health resources in the community; and The reluctance for many with mental health diseases to seek help.

If you could help them access support from a personal counselor, therapist or even an educational center to give them information on their diagnosis, wouldn't you?

In the last two years, The Help Show has recorded ninety-four podcasts focusing on mental health and community issues, with 8, over downloads on Apple podcast and Podbean.

These have featured countless hours of research and interviews with mental health professionals who have broken down the who, why and how people suffer from mental health issues and how they can get assistance in their communities. According to the U. S Department of Health and Human Services, 1 in 5 American adults have experienced a mental health issue, and 1 in 25 Americans live with a severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression.

The Help Show understands the importance of spreading awareness on how to access mental health in your community. We are here to change the perception of mental health care. We encourage people with mental health issues to seek help and reach out for assistance. Come out and support The Help Show's signature fundraising event: our live podcasts.

Our goal? To raise funds and awareness on how to access mental health in your community. The Help Show podcasts have been running for three years.

All the money raised on the podcasts go to research, community outreach, CEU continuing education units classes, and prevention of debilitating mental health conditions.

In the last three years, we have educated countless people in the community about mental health and ways to access services in the community. We have taught countless people to disown the stigma of mental health and to reach out for assistance at local churches, community centers and hospitals. What you can do to help?

According to a primer put out by SmartCCM, "CPT reimbursement specifically incentivizes physicians to better manage patients with multiple chronic conditions, the 32 percent of our population that accounts for an overwhelming share of healthcare services such as prescriptions fills, home healthcare visits, office visits and the vast majority of general healthcare and Medicare spending as well.

According to McKamy, that's all well and good, but what doctor has the time or energy to chart every minute of every phone call made or text message or e-mail sent to check up on a patient meeting those standards?

All those minutes add up. Reimbursing clinicians for providing chronic care management services isn't new. The American Medical Association, which devised the Current Procedure Terminology CPT code sequence, has long been supporting physicians with Codeswhich cover certain visits, exams and counseling services, and Codeswhich covers problem-oriented visits and management services. But all of those codes focus on face-to-face visits, whereas brings telehealth into the equation.

Likewise, CPT Codes cover some of the same ground in preventive care and follow-up services, represents the first time that Medicare allows physicians to separately bill for reimbursement.

And EMRs aren't helping. Despite the drawbacks, McKamy says is a step in the right direction, albeit a small one. It's important that the government is at least acknowledging that coordination is needed. Others don't think they're looking fast enough. We urge CMS and other federal payers to use every opportunity to incorporate RPM and other proven eCare technology … to work towards a connected healthcare system. Donald Voltz, an anesthesiologist, researcher, medical educator and entrepreneur, also feels that might be a step in the right direction, but a flawed one.

Writing in HIT Consultant, he says the code is too difficult for most physicians to use, and should nevertheless be part of a more comprehensive chronic care management program. Without a seamless component to log such activity, the efficiency of the overall process comes into question," he wrote. Skip to main content. Are doctors earning chronic care reimbursement?
